I Can Walk After 18 Years T12 Spinal Cord Injury

Mr. Wong catched spinal cord injury since 18 years ago because of falling down from 9 meters high building. From CT report, T12 was broken and spinal cord injury. After the accident, he received surgery but left some sequelae of spinal cord injury such as motor dysfunction of both lower limbs, bowel and bladder dysfunction. Long-term motor dysfunction, Mr. Wong has to stay on bed leading to bedsore in heels, toes and sacrococcygeal region. During the 18 years, Mr. Wong received 8 times surgery but having no effective treatment result. Before he come to our stem cell center for stem cell treatment, he has already caught  osteomyelitis. After two courses stem cell treatment, Mr. Wong’s condition get obvious improvements. Below is the comparison before and after receiving stem cell treatment.
Before Stem Cell Treatment:
1. Weak muscle strength in both lower limbs; difficult to stand up and walk by himself; walking with poor balance just like a pendulum. He can walk by himself about 4 meters.
2. Can’t go up and down stairs; hard to lift legs so that he can’t walk long.
3. Having no self-care ability; need relatives take care of beside him.
4. Poor peripheral circulation in lower limbs, ankles, toes leading to dark skin and peeling.
5. Sensory level is being hip joint.
After second course stem cell treatment：
1. Lower limbs strength are increased a lot. Mr. Wong can stand by single leg for seconds; walking easily with good balance. He can walk at least 30 meters and walking very long distance with the help of double crutches.
2. Can go up and down stairs freely and can lift legs with strength.
3. Skin colors of both lower limbs turn to normal because the peripheral circulation is improved.
4. Sensory level moved to to knees.
5. Ulcers on heels, toes and sacrococcygeal region are recovered and the pain disappeared.
Mr. Wong received stem cell treatment 18 years after spinal cord injury. If he gets the stem cell treatment earlier, he has big chance to live normal life.
